The Urban Jürgensen Big 8 Japan Edition is a rare and meticulously crafted timepiece offered exclusively for the Japanese market in a production run of only 20 examples. Housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case, the Big 8 features the brand’s signature teardrop-shaped lugs, each separately forged, polished by hand and soldered individually onto the case. The dial is finished with a hand-applied granulated texture, solid silver substrate and applied Breguet numerals. In the Japan Edition, the dial is best described as silver-toned with its fine texture and small second at 6 o’clock. Powering the watch is the hand-wound Caliber FP 1160 (Frederic Piguet base) featuring twin barrels and approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The movement is beautifully finished, with hand-beveled bridges, polished screws and a 21k gold rotor in the automatic variant.
