An independent watchmaker from Morteau, France, Charles Routhier is a graduate of Lycée Edgar Faure de Morteau.
In 2018, he became a winner of the Young Talent Competition, supported by François-Paul Journe and the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH).
Since 2015, the Young Talent Competition has been instrumental in discovering the next generation of the most talented young watchmaking apprentices in the world, supporting them on their journey to independence by identifying their achievements and giving them a platform to develop their skills.
His award-winning watch is called ‘Halley’ – it carries the name of the famous comet that can be seen every 76 years. Its inspiration was found in the many details linked to astronomy (comets, stars, constellations, planets). Its night blue face with a visible pendulum (heart of the watch) and its bridge in the shape of a comet make it a very poetic, blended and attractive watch.
At the present time, Charles Routhier is improving the development of his watch ‘Halley’, because he’s going to produce a small run of these watches. At the same time, he’s working at “Le Temps Manufacture” as a watchmaker.
