Watchmaker

Peter Elliot

"I am an American born watchmaker whom fell in love with watches at a young age at which point I decided to pursue independent watchmaking. My dream became a reality when I completed a 2-year WOSTEP course in Miami, U.S.A. where I studied traditional watchmaking and the German language. This prepared me for my relocation to Germany where I had a solid foundation of watchmaking knowledge and German speaking ability to apprentice several Master Watchmakers. It is within these four years of earning a formal education in watchmaking and learning from experienced watchmakers that I could gather the knowledge and skill to design and produce my own watch.

Currently, I am producing a prototype of my first 'Three Hands'  watch using quality and traditional elements of wrist and pocket watches I have restored in the past, all culminated into one watch. A Three Handed watch is simple in theory but many crucial mechanical elements have been added to the movement which optimize the function and aesthetic. Included in the traditional elements is the process itself. I hope to achieve uniqueness by limiting the number of watches I produce and help preserve the traditional methods involved in turning, milling and hand-finishing parts thus, giving birth to my new movement caliber: PE18.1.

My in-house movement design has taken two years to develop thus far and is nearing an exciting end. All of the components in my Three Hands watch have been designed and produced from the ground up achieving a new and unique movement caliber".
